How the rewrite actually works.

Five stages, one of them optional. Nothing is invented and nothing is kept.

A prompt is the message you send a model before it answers: the text in the box on claude.ai, in ChatGPT, in Midjourney. Every model reads that message against its own published guidance, and those guidances disagree. A prompt tuned for one is measurably worse on another.

  1. Your rough prompt

Type it or say it. No structure, no formatting, no second pass.

  2. The model you are about to use

Ten text targets, eight image generators and ten video models. Reasoning models and standard ones are separate targets, because they want different things.

  3. Optional

Your own context, if you want it

Choose a Project or a Business folder from your vault. Those notes are read at the moment you hit rewrite, so the prompt knows what you actually sell, to whom, in your voice.

    • Read fresh each time, never cached
    • Sent to the model only, not stored by us
    • Cannot reach outside the folder you chose
  4. That model's own guidance

The rewrite follows the vendor's published prompting documentation for that exact target. Every change is traceable to it.

  5. The prompt you send

With notes on what was optimized and why. Missing facts become marked placeholders, never invented ones.

Where your vault context comes from.

Most prompt tools only see the sentence you typed. If you keep your projects in Obsidian, IterationFlow can read the folder you point it at, so the rewrite already knows the business it is writing for.

  1. You pick the folder

A Project dropdown and a Business dropdown, populated from your vault. Nothing outside the folder you choose is readable, and nothing is read until you choose one.

  2. Notes are read at rewrite time

Not on a schedule, not into a copy we hold. Edit a note and the next rewrite already reflects it.

  3. They travel to the model and stop there

Context is attached to that single rewrite request. It is not stored by us, not indexed, and not used for anything else.

  4. Instructions inside your notes stay inert

Your notes are treated as reference material, never as commands to the rewriter.

What the guidance changes.

25 products, 31 targets, because reasoning and standard variants of the same model want different things.
